In 2022 Canada Electrical Automobiles and Webb Motorworks had an electrical converted 1932 Ford 5-Window Coupe on display at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Displayed next to an electrical converted 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and 1957 Chevrolet, the 1932 Ford had been powered by one of Webb Motorworks Flathead E-Crate Motors.

The zero-emission hot rod was promoted as a partnership between Canada Electrical Automobiles and Webb Motorworks, and according to Todd Maliteare, president of Canadian Electrical Automobiles, “these powerplants are state-of-the-art techniques with efficiency and drivability that’s nicely past the engines they changed.”

A Webb Motorworks Flathead E-Crate motor starts at approximately $50.000, but according to their webpage, it is subject to change. Reserving an engine cost $100.00, and you will be given the opportunity to make changes to your order once the production has started. The engine block is available in six different colors, and you can specify if horsepower is more important than range for your conversion. It is also available as an electric V8 or an electric V12 engine. Webb Motorworks e-crate conversions can be installed into the normal engine mounts of your car, so the total price depends on how much of the job you can perform yourself. It comes in a kit that includes a block with motor/batteries, battery box, cables and wiring harness, battery box base frame and straps, cooling radiators, and coolant tanks. The powertrain conversions that Webb Motorworks promoted at SEMA were coming in at roughly US$60,000. Alyn Edwards of OnlineEV.com interviewed Maliteare at the show, and according to him, they are still within the early phases and the prices are fairly excessive. "However, similar to cell telephones and flatscreen TVs, the worth ought to come down and EV conversions will make traditional automobiles extra beneficial."
